Aims:
To learn how to improve communication skills and develop customer relations by improving motivation, presentation skills and teamwork.
Objectives/Learning outcomes: By the end of this sessions the students will be able to:

Introduction of aims of lesson

Individual exercise: Students to make a list of what type of service they think client's expect from the yard staff

Discuss the points on the student's lists and any other issues raised

  • Types of client's and client care
  • How to communicate and negotiate with clients and other team members
  • The importance of teamwork
  • The importance and means of providing a quality service
  • Assessing, changing and monitoring work conditions

    Divide students into small groups. Give each group a scenario of a difficult, new or inexperienced client and ask them to discuss how they would deal with the situation.

    Each group to report back on how they would deal with the situation
