Tish Adams is
a BHS Registered Intermediate Instructor and Pony
Club examiner for the B test and the AH Horse and Pony Care
Tests and holds an International Coach's Passport as well as being
a NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier. She currently runs a livery,
competition and training yard in Suffolk as well as being the Course
Advisor and Tutor Team Leader for the Open
College of Equine Studies marking papers for distance learning
students worldwide.
Having married
and trained as a teacher she graduated from the University of London,
Goldsmiths College in 1973 and taught in a Comprehensive school
in Hertfordshire for five years before having a family.
Her childhood
interest and love of horses coupled with her teaching skills led
her to train towards her Intermediate Instructors certificate which
she obtained in 1984. During this time Tish became very involved
in Pony Club and was the Chief Instructor for the Suffolk Hunt branch
of the Pony Club for eight years. She is also involved with Pony
Club at regional and national level.
With her educational
experience and Pony Club interests she felt that the Pony Club efficiency
tests could be trained for in a more structured way which would
allow the student to have an insight in what would be expected of
them in the test, hence the evolvement of the Working Notebooks.
